I work in IT and know that it is about locking down information and protecting owners of content from illegal copying. However, pallidium goes far beyond this and ensures a backdoor into the computer it is installed on. As the IT director at my institution, I will be recommending this boycott to them as well. I sincerely believe the security risk will violate the soon to be finalized HIPAA guidelines, and I will fight to be sure that this is how HIPAA is interpreted in our state.
