Dear Senator Schumer,
I am writing to urge you to vote no on S2395. While its original intent
has points that can be argued as being good for the United States and its
citizens, the current incarnation of S2395 with its hastily added references
to Digital Rights Management (DRM) will cause great harm to the people of
New York and the rest of the United States.
As a singer who is not signed with a major record label, I am very concerned
that DRM crippled computers will not allow me to self produce CDs of my work.
With the technology that is currently available it is possible for artists to
econimically produce their own recordings. If my computer is crippled with
DRM then my ability to self produce my music will be taken away from me.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Keske
