Please reject the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking #02-230, which would prevent
consumers (i.e. you and me) from being able to view programs when we would like.
As currently constructed, this “broadcast flag” proposal would
hamper innovation in digital televisions and other electronic equipment capable
of receiving digital broadcasts.
I\'m confused why the FCC would even consider something as ridiculous as this
system. I\'m even more confused why industry insiders would support it. After
all, most WORKING people routinely record programs so that they can watch them
at a time convenient to them. By \"protecting their copyrights\", they would
prevent me from watching ANY broadcast television. Without the ability to record
and watch at a time convenient to me, there are very few programs that I would
bother watching.
